چکیده

Image inpainting involves filling in part of an image or video using information from the surrounding area. Applications include the restoration of damaged photographs and movies and the removal of selected objects. In this paper, we introduce a class of automated methods for digital inpainting. The approach uses ideas from classical fluid dynamics to propagate isophote lines continuously from the exterior into the region to be inpainted. The main idea is to think of the image intensity as a ‘stream function’ for a two-dimensional incompressible flow. The Laplacian of the image intensity plays the role of the vorticity of the fluid; it is transported into the region to be inpainted by a vector field defined by the stream function. The resulting algorithm is designed to continue isophotes while matching gradient vectors at the boundary of the inpainting region. The method is directly based on the Navier-Stokes equations for fluid dynamics, which has the immediate advantage of well-developed theoretical and numerical results. This is a new approach for introducing ideas from computational fluid dynamics into problems in computer vision and image

Digital Image Inpainting using Finite Volume approach and the Navier- Stokes Equations

This paper presents a new numerical method for image inpainting based on the vorticity stream function formulation of the Navier-Stokes Equations. The method employs a finite volume discretization and a Runge-Kutta time stepping scheme with dissipative terms. A stability analysis of the proposed numerical method has been performed to determine the maximum allowable time step for which the compu...

Investigation of instable fluid velocity in pipes with internal nanofluid flow based on Navier-Stokes equations

In this article, the instable fluid velocity in the pipes with internal nanofluid is studied. The fluid is mixed by SiO2, AL2O3, CuO and TiO2 nanoparticles in which the equivalent characteristic of nanofluid is calculated by rule of mixture. The force induced by the nanofluid is assumed in radial direction and is obtained by Navier-Stokes equation considering viscosity of nanofluid. The displac...

Image Inpainting Using a TV-Stokes Equation

Based on some geometrical considerations, we propose a two-step method to do digital image inpainting. In the first step, we try to propagate the isophote directions into the inpainting domain. An energy minimization model combined with the zero divergence condition is used to get a nonlinear Stokes equation. Once the isophote directions are constructed, an image is restored to fit the construc...
